Water Main Replacement Work Will Delay Pleasanton Drivers
The project, which is necessary in order to keep the aging downtown water lines functioning, will also impact downtown parking.

PLEASANTON, CA — Crews will begin replacing the aging water main along Main Street in Pleasanton this week, city officials said. Excavation work will start on Jan 11 and new pipelines will be installed beginning on Jan. 18. Officials said installation will start at the bridge over the Arroyo Del Valle and then head south to Saint Mary Street.
City officials anticipate the work on the 70-year-old stretch of pipeline will be fully completed by March and said the new lines are needed in order to keep the downtown water lines functioning. Work will start at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and end by 4 p.m.
Drivers are asked to use caution in the construction areas and should expect delays. Residents should consider alternate routes during the construction period. Downtown parking will be affected during the construction period.
