Water Shut Off In Sunol Neighborhood Following Water Main Break
A water main break occurred Thursday night around Kilkare Road, and water access has not been restored as of Friday afternoon.
SUNOL, CA — Roughly 125 households around Kilkare Road in Sunol have been without water for nearly 20 hours following a main break Thursday night, according to the City of Pleasanton.
The city received word of a break at the northern end of Kilkare Road around 7:40 p.m. Thursday, the city said. Residents were informed of the break, and water was shut off at 9:41 p.m. Thursday.
On Friday, city staff worked to excavate the affected man to make the necessary repairs. As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, staff expects to have water restored by about 7 p.m. In the meantime, a water staging area on Kilkare Road past Foothill Road is available to residents who need water.

Affected residents are advised to boil water until the pipe is repaired and the testing of water is approved, which is expected to be between 24 and 72 hours after restoration. Residents were provided with a Boil Water Notice.
Residents within Pleasanton city limits, and residents living south of 670 Kilkare Road, were not affected by the main break.
