Watsonville Grad Named PVUSD Controller, Aptos Man Named Director

Richard Reid will serve as director of maintenance and operations for the district, and Priscilla Sanchez as controller.

WATSONVILLE, CA – The Pajaro Valley Unified School District’s Board of Trustees has announced two appointments: Richard Reid as director of maintenance and operations, and Priscilla Sanchez as controller.

Reid comes to the district from the Santa Clara County Office of Education, where he served for 19 years in the maintenance and operations field. Reid directed activities and operations of the Walden West Center; directed staff in the maintenance and operations department; developed bids; supervised the construction of two playgrounds; and organized office moves, classroom moves and repairs to equipment and buildings, according to the PVUSD.

Reid lives in Aptos and has two children attending PVUSD schools.

Sanchez, a Watsonville High School graduate, has broad experience training employees in implementation of business systems, including workers in the U.S., Mexico and France, according to the district. She is expected to bring to the district her knowledge of developing process workflows and creating best practices to improve internal efficiencies, according to the PVUSD.

Sanchez holds a bachelors degree in economics with a minor in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
