1 Killed, 1 Arrested In Suspected DUI Crash In Poway
Jordan Bourassa, 23, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, bodily injury and vehicular manslaughter.

POWAY, CA — One person was killed and another was arrested Wednesday after the pair were trapped in an overturned vehicle during a suspected DUI crash in Poway.
The vehicle struck a signal light pole and flipped over at around 3:22 a.m. at the intersection of Community and Twin Peaks roads, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies freed the driver, who was identified as 23-year-old Jordan Bourassa, said sheriff's Sgt. Lon Nguyen. The male passenger remained trapped and was later rescued by the Poway Fire Department.

Both were taken to Palomar Hospital in Escondido. Despite lifesaving efforts, the passenger was pronounced dead at the hospital, Nguyen said.
Bourassa was evaluated and released into the custody of authorities. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, bodily injury and vehicular manslaughter. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death and release the identity of the victim pending family notification, Nguyen said.
