New fine dining restaurant has Grand Opening

We attended the Grand Opening this week of The Terrace Restaurant and Bar on Poway Road near Pomerado Road, where House on the Hill used to be.  The setting is especially nice for a special occasion, which we celebrated there with our two grown children.  We were celebrating my husband's 73rd birthday and we had the finest meal we have ever had right here in Poway.  The service was wonderful and the server was very knowledgeable and efficient.  We saw the advertisement of the Grand Opening in The Poway Chieftain and brought in the ad for the free appetizer.  The rolls were nice and hot and served with both butter and oliver oil and herbs.  We ordered wine and other beverages, two appetizers Moules Frites and Kunal Mushrooms, which were both excellent choices and presented beautifully.  The main dish I ordered was New Zealand Lamb, and it was very tender and cooked to perfection.  This was served over root vegetables.  They surprised my husband with a small cheesecake dessert drizzled with raspberry sauce and red rasperries all around, and the server brought out 4 forks for us to share the delightful dessert treat.  We have recommended this new restaurant to some of our friends and hope they do very well at this lovely location up on the hill.  Phyllis Mehlman
