Authorities Investigate Death of Teen in Poway
BREAKING: The 17-year-old boy, whose name was not disclosed, was found unresponsive Friday, a sheriff's official said.

POWAY, CA — A 17-year-old boy died last week in Poway, and the circumstances of his death are being investigated by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
In a news release issued Tuesday, Sgt. Mark Haynesworth said deputies responded at 8:08 p.m. Friday to a home in the 1300 block of Orchard Gate Road to assist the Poway Fire Department with an unresponsive male juvenile who was having difficulty breathing.
"Upon deputies' arrival, Poway Fire Department personnel were already performing CPR on the lone juvenile
male victim," Haynesworth said. "The life-saving measures were unsuccessful and he was pronounced deceased at the location."

The sergeant did not disclose the teen's name.
He said the cause of death will be released by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, that the investigation is ongoing.
