Missing Teen Found Safe In Poway

POWAY, CA — A missing teenager and her dog were found safe Wednesday in Poway.

Cassidy Chan, 13, and her dog, Lucy, were found around 7 p.m. near their home in the northern unincorporated area of Poway, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Cassidy had last been seen shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when she left her home to take the family dog for a walk.

"Both are doing okay and will soon be reunited with their family," sheriff's Lt. Kevin Ralph said.

"We appreciate the outpouring of support from the community, especially from the many people who came forward to offer their assistance in the search for Cassidy and Lucy," he added.
