BOOGIE ON THE BAYOU featuring The Marcia Ball Band and Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience

Boogie on the Bayou

brings together two GrammyÒ winning legends of zydeco

music in one, rollicking concert.  USA Today calls the Texas born,

Louisiana raised Marcia Ball “a sensational, saucy singer and superb

pianist... where Texas stomp-rock and Louisiana blues-swamp meet."

She is famed worldwide for igniting a full-scale roadhouse rhythm and blues

party every time she strolls on stage. Singing songs about wild parties,

twisted motel affairs and the enduring power of love, Ball is famed worldwide

for igniting a full-scale rhythm and blues party every time she strolls on

stage.

One of Louisiana’s favorite

sons, Terrance Simien is a multi-GrammyÒ Award winner internationally known for his live

performances.  For over 30 years Simien,

an 8th generation Louisiana Creole, has been creating a hypnotic blend of New

Orleans flavored funk-reggae, world-blues music. One of the most respected and

accomplished artists in American roots music today, he can be heard (and seen,

with a little help from Disney) in the Oscar-nominated animated film “The

Princess & The Frog” set in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

"Ball plays masterful, red hot tracks from the

Texas-Louisiana border. Her voice can break your heart with a ballad or break

your back with a rocker." –Boston

Herald

“Simien is a Zydeco Master: his voice yearning like Sam

Cooke, he delivers soul worthy of Stax greats and shows crossover class.”
