A Celebration of American Music to be February Discovery Concert
Bernardo Heights Chamber String Orchestra to Perform "A Celebration of American Music"

The Bernardo Heights Chamber String Orchestra, under the direction of Ulli Reiner, will perform “A Celebration of American Music” at 3 pm Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Rancho Bernardo Library. This concert will be in the 2nd floor community room at the library, located at 17110 Bernardo Center Drive.
Performances include The Star Spangled Banner, Amazing Grace, Bonaparte’s Retreat, Red Wing, Colors of the Wind from “Pocahontas,” Fiddler’s Dream, and Fiddle Boy Overture. The Bernardo Heights Chamber String Orchestra is comprised of the top 20 string players from the Bernardo Heights Middle School (BHMS) Advanced Orchestra.
"These 7th and 8th grade students are some of the finest players in the area middle schools and are also the top academic students in their classes. Not only is their passion for music apparent in their dedication and commitment to the BHMS music program but many study music outside of their school program, are members of local youth orchestras, enter area competitions and volunteer for many of our community organizations," explained Reiner. She is one of 10 finalists nationwide for the 2017 Grammy Music Educator Award that will be announced Feb. 12 at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
