Discovery Isle in Poway Donates 550 Items to Local Food Bank

Students collected nonperishable food donations to benefit the San Diego Food Bank

Students at Discovery Isle Preschool on Ted Williams Parkway in Poway recently donated 550 nonperishable food items to the San Diego Food Bank. The donations were the result of an annual schoolwide food drive to support local families in need during the holiday season. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to others in their community.

The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and the North County Food Bank chapter comprise the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County. Last year, the food bank distributed 26 million pounds of food, and the food bank serves, on average, 370,000 people per month in San Diego County.
