Discovery Isle Preschool Students Release Butterflies for Earth Day

Students celebrate Earth Day and protecting the environment by releasing butterflies into their schoolyard

Students at Discovery Isle Preschool on Ted Williams Parkway in Poway recently explored a bug’s life in celebration of Earth Day as they released butterflies throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Students participated in a number of other Earth Day activities, including Earth-themed art projects and recycling initiatives.

Leading up to Earth Day, students observed caterpillars, their cocoon development and transformation into butterflies. Discovery Isle teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
