Auditions for "Getting Sara Married"

Synopsis: Sara Hastings is an unmarried lawyer in her mid-30s, much too busy to get involved in any romance. Her Aunt Martha has decided to take matters into her own hands and find Sara a husband. Unfortunately, Aunt Martha’s methods include having the prospective groom, Brandon Cates (a young man who handles Aunt Martha’s finances) bopped on the head and dragged, unconscious, to Sara’s apartment. The fact that Brandon is already engaged to Heather does not deter Aunt Martha.

The play takes place in Sara’s upper East Side New York apartment and is set in present day.

Cast Requirements: 3 Men and 3 Women

Sara: mid-30s, the lead, a focused successful, unmarried lawyer.

Martha: mid-60s, eccentric, work-out fanatic, likes to meddle in Sara’s life, determined to get Sara married.

Noogie: late 40s, quirky Bronx, New York, deliveryman.

Brandon: mid-30s, handsome, appealing, engaged to Heather.

Heather: mid-20s, attractive, but somewhat plain dressing.

Chiropractor: 30-45, non-speaking role.
