The 24th annual re-enactment of the historic clash between the U.S. Military Dragoons clash with the Mexican Californio Lancers will take place Sunday at San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park.
The event, presented by the San Pasqual Battlefield Volunteer Association and the California State Parks, brings history to life with re-enactments of the Battle of San Pasqual, the bloodiest battle fought in California during the Mexican American War, at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Narration will be provided in English and Spanish.
Displays include military and mountain men encampments, and there will be several period demonstrations including a cannon drill and firing, candle making, corn husk doll making, Native American storytelling, music, dancing, adobe brick making and blacksmithing. There are activities especially for children and refreshments available for purchase.
