124 Poway Unified School District student artists will be recognized with an art reception for their entries in the 2011-2012 National PTA Reflections Art Program. Artists from kindergarten through 12th grade in art categories of musical composition, photography, literature, visual arts, dance choreography and film production will get a chance to show you what they did for the theme: "Diversity means . . .". These young artists achieved an Award of Excellence at their PTA units (schools) and advanced to the Palomar Council PTA. Judges awarded these pieces of art with either an Award of Excellence or an Award of Merit. The 60 Award of Excellence then moved forward to the Ninth District PTA Reflections Program, 13 were selected to represent San Diego and Imperial Counties from our community, 24 in total advanced to California Sate PTA. Two of the P.U.S.D./Palomar Council PTA pieces received Awards of Merit at the state level of the art program.
