Learn How to Survive a Wildfire in Poway

Community forum July 9 to focus on wildfire emergency response and preparation in Poway.

Poway already has one of the worst wildfire conditions in the country. Our combination of shrubby vegetation and extreme fire weather means frequent fires that are often very large and extremely intense. Learn how tosurvive a wildfire in our area at a Thursday, July 9, special community forum at 14211 Twin Peaks Road, from 7 pm to 8 pm.
Sponsored by the nonprofit Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corps (PNEC), the speaker for this event is Karen Boyle, a local attorney and member of the San Diego Community Emergency Response Team.  She has survived three wildfires and plans to share her experiences and the process of emergency preparation. PNEC is an all volunteer group that seeks to complement the City of Poway Emergency Operations Plan through a grass roots communication network of neighbors.
