Motorcyclist Killed in Miramar Way Crash: Police

BREAKING: The collision near the East Gate of MCAS Miramar was reported at 3:39 p.m. Friday.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Friday near the East Gate of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, in the Scripps Ranch area, according to San Diego police.

The collision was reported at 3:39 p.m. in the 9200 block of Miramar Way and involved a 52-year-old motorcyclist who was traveling eastbound on the roadway and a 26-year-old woman who was traveling westbound in her 2014 Toyota sedan, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.

"She turned left in front of the motorcycle to go southbound on Kearny Villa Road, violating the motorcycle's right of way," Heims said. "The motorcycle hit the right front corner of the car ejecting the motorcyclist who died at the scene."

His name was not provided by police.

The woman, whose name was not disclosed, was not injured in the collision.

Heim said the San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
