Turn back
the clock and celebrate the Fourth of July turn-of-the century style! There
will be live musical performances in the Gazebo throughout the day, and
patriotic children’s activities will be offered such as arts and crafts. There
will be plenty of lunch items and treats for sale including an old-fashioned
picnic lunch, a traditional ice cream social and more! Poway Station Model
Railroad Club will feature a large model train display, the L-Gauge Museum will
have a vintage LEGO toys for viewing, classic cars will be showcased in the
park, and our historical gun fighting re-enactors will perform mock train
robberies and gunfights. The Heritage
Museum and Nelson House will be open with patriotic and educational décor and
memorabilia, and the Poway Arts and Crafts Guild will be selling their
one-of-a-kind handmade crafts. The Poway-Midland Railroad will give rides
aboard the 1907 Baldwin steam engine, the event will also feature pony rides
and old fashioned carnival games that are sponsored by the Hamburger Restaraunt for a nominal fee.
This year
Midland Road will be closed for the event, and the event will have a FREE
shuttle pick-up and drop-off service from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Pick-up and
drop-off locations will be at the Poway Adult School on Twin Peaks Road and
Poway City Hall on Civic Center Drive.
