PHS Lacrosse Player Ryan Sharpe Commits to Division I University
A senior at Poway High School, Sharpe will begin attending the private university in the fall of 2013.
Leaving the nest is sometimes a hard thing to do—which is why Poway High School senior Ryan Sharpe is getting some of the more technical details out of the way now.
The five-year lacrosse player recently made a verbal commitment to Bryant University in Rhode Island, and says he’s excited about attending the Division I school next fall.
“I loved it there,” said Sharpe of a recent visit to the campus. “It was the atmosphere—everyone there is awesome. They’re all fun to be around.”

Over the summer, the midfielder attended several showcases and camps in an effort to get recruited.

It seems to have paid off well, though Sharpe admits leaving home will be bittersweet.
“It’s going to be a reality check, you know,” he said. “I’m going to be all the way across the country so my parents can’t really help me. I’m excited though.”
Congratulations, Ryan—Patch wishes you the best!
