Poway Appoints New City Clerk

The city ofΒ Poway has a new city clerk.
The appointment of Nancy Neufeld to the position was announced Tuesday in a news release.
Neufeld, who most recently served as deputy city clerk for the city of La Mesa, is no stranger to Poway. She started her career in public service with the city of Poway just a few years after its 1980 incorporation.

βI feel like Iβve come full circle,β Neufeld said. βI left Poway for family reasons and never dreamed Iβd have this opportunity to come back. Itβs exciting to see the changes that have happened in this city while Iβve been away and to have the chance to be a part of its future.β
The city clerk provides the link between citizens and government by coordinating the legislative process, administering city elections and ensuring that public records are preserved, archived and accessible to the public. The clerk also acts as a compliance officer for federal, state and local statutes, including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act and the Public Records Act.

Neufeld is a certified municipal clerk and is working toward her master municipal clerk designation.

She is passionate about working in public service, providing exceptional customer service and promoting open government."
