Poway Road Grade Closed Wednesday For Removal Of Boulder
Poway Road from Espola Road to Highway 67 will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. while crews work to remove a large boulder.
POWAY, CA – The city of Poway announced that the Poway Road Grade will be closed Wednesday while crews work to remove a large boulder and conduct a safety inspection.
The city rented a large excavator to break up and remove the boulder, estimated at 10 feet high and 10 feet wide, which fell onto the street Sunday night during the recent storms.
Poway Road from Espola Road to Highway 67 will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During the closure, a geotechnical engineer will also inspect the roadway to make sure it is safe for the public.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Senior Volunteer Patrol will help provide traffic control. Residents located along this section of Poway Road will be allowed access to their property, while other traffic will be diverted to Scripps Poway Parkway.
