Poway Trails Closed Due To Heat Wave
Signs will be posted to advise hikers that the trails are closed, according to the city.

POWAY, CA – With a heat wave washing over much of San Diego County, the city of Poway has closed trails at Iron Mountain and Mt. Woodson from the east side of Lake Poway to Potato Chip Rock.
The closures will likely remain in effect through Tuesday, according to the city. Signs will be posted to advise hikers that the trails are closed.
City officials said trails are closed for the safety of hikers and rescue personnel when temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 100 degrees and a heat advisory is in effect.

A red flag warning issued by the NWS for parts of San Diego County, including Poway, is scheduled to be in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday amid forecasts of hot, dry and windy weather in the inland valleys and mountains.
