Powegian Musician Enjoys the 'Singing, Sharing' of Poway Folk Circle Events
Jeff Bertino has been playing music since he was 10 and now plays with the Poway Folk Circle every month.
Powegian Jeff Bertino represents a group of more than 200 guitar-strumming, drum-beating, music-loving people, who make up the .
Now almost three years old, he says the group began as an “informal jam” in , becoming official in 2009.
“We've experienced a steady increase in membership and attendance from the start,” said Bertino, who started playing music at the age of 10 and has attended more than 100 PFC events. “Our meetings range from around eight to around 40 [people].”

Bertino says the PFC provides a forum to honor working musicians throughout San Diego, and one such artist will give a guest performance each month.
“Then, for those who want to stay, we form a circle―sometimes pretty large―and take turns singing or leading songs,” he said. “Our events have a lot of great singing, playing, socializing and sharing.”

The PFC meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
