Power Outage Affects 2,300 in Northeast San Diego

Electricity was lost early Thursday in Sorrento Valley, Mira Mesa and Scripps Ranch.

SAN DIEGO, CA: A power outage left almost 2,300 northeastern San Diego homes and businesses in the dark Thursday morning.

The outage occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. and affected 2,291 utility customers in the Sorrento Valley, Mira Mesa and Scripps Ranch neighborhoods, according to San Diego Gas & Electric. By 8:20 a.m., service had been restored to all but 371.

SDG&E expects to have full restoration by about 2 p.m. Crews have yet to determine what caused the outage, according to utility officials.
