Rethink That Habit Of Letting Your Car Warm Up In Driveway
Same advice goes for leaving it running at convenience stores. Police say this can be a bad idea.

Great advice from a California police department:
Do you leave your car unattended while it warms up?
The weather is starting to get colder and you might have the urge to start car’s engine to warm it up, defrost the windows and warm up the inside. If you leave your car running unattended, you are giving car thieves an invitation to take your car. Car thieves will walk down residential neighborhoods and specifically look for cars left unattended and running in a driveway.
It only takes seconds to get in the driver’s seat and drive away in your now-warm car. Car thieves also hang around convenience stores and wait for you to walk inside while leaving their car running in the parking lot.
