On 8/6/2021 approximately 0122 hours, Sheriff's Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Vista Patrol Station responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision at the intersection of East Vista Way and Townsite Drive in the city of Vista.

Based on the preliminary investigation, a 31-year-old male motorcyclist traveling northbound on East Vista Way broadsided a BMW sedan driven by a 24-year-old male, who was attempting to make a left turn onto East Vista Way from westbound Townsite Drive.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported by ambulance to Palomar Medical Center. The driver of the BMW stayed on scene to cooperate with the investigation and was not under the influence of alcohol.

The Vista Traffic Unit will be handling the ongoing investigation, including the cause and if alcohol was a factor on part of the motorcyclist. Anyone with information about this case can call The Vista Traffic Division at 760-940-4556.
