SAN DIEGO EMERGENCY SURVIVAL FAIR SET FOR JUNE 11

Free drawings every half hour for emergency survival gear and kits

The San Diego Emergency Survival Fair is set for 9 AM – 1 PM Saturday, June 11, Old Poway Park 14134 Midland Rd, Poway. Free emergency preparedness items drawings are offered every half hour.

Visit booths staffed by organizations that provide emergency planning and assistance in the San Diego area. Learn how they can assist families in the development of unique survival plans, such as a strategy when there are mandatory evacuations. Find out what to do if basic services, such as water, gas, electricity, or telephones are cut off. This fair is a community driven event to connect residents with public and private organizations to better prepare our community for any emergency.

Organizations participating in the fair are donating emergency preparedness items for free drawings every half hour starting at 10 am. These items include FRS radios, emergency 72 hour kits, fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

Booths at the fair include the San Diego Office of Emergency Services, Ready San Diego, S.D. Crime Prevention, Burn Institute, Trauma Intervention Program, Senior Volunteer Patrol, Boy Scouts, SDG&E, Red Cross, Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corps, Poway Amateur Communications Team, Animal Rescue Reserve, Be Ready emergency supplies, Poolside Fire Pump, Environmental Risk Services, and Clean Clear Waters Storage and Rotation Systems.Also with booths will be the Poway Community Emergency Response Team and its Safety Services Department, which consists of Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, Emergency Medical Services and Law Enforcement Services.

The Emergency Survival Fair is sponsored by the nonprofit Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corps, which works to complement the City of Poway Emergency Operations Plan through a grass roots communication network of neighbors.
