See Poway In Full Bloom

Spring will be in full bloom over at this weekend.

is set for Saturday, with the theme Celebrations—Celebrating 50 years. The aesthetically pleasing event is sponsored by the Old Poway Park Action Committee, the Poway Valley Garden Club and the city of Poway.

Have you been growing some pretty peonies or beautiful bluebells? You can enter them in the show! Entries are accepted free-of-charge and can be delivered to Old Poway Park on Thursday, April 12, from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, April 13, from 7:30-9 a.m., which is the deadline. Judging will take place on Friday at 10:30 a.m. 

Want to enjoy some local beauty this weekend? Everyone is invited to come walk around and see the displays of succulents, roses, annuals, perennials, orchids, fruits, and nuts and berries at Old Poway Park from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on April 14. Some plants will be for sale.

Also available during the plant show will be train rides on the historic 1907 Baldwin Steam Engine, museum tours, the Farmers Market and the Boardwalk Craft Market. The show will go on, rain or shine!
