Student Detained After 'Hit List' Found At Poway Middle School​

BREAKING: Authorities are investigating a threat to Meadowbrook Middle School in Poway.

POWAY, CA – Authorities are investigating a threat to Meadowbrook Middle School and increasing patrols at the Poway campus after a student's alleged "hit list" was discovered Thursday.

School staff found the eighth-grader with a so-called "hit list" including the names of faculty and students around 11:30 a.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The student was detained, and as a precaution, everyone whose name was listed was notified.

The Poway Sheriff's Station is investigating the threat to the campus, which is located at 12320 Meadowbrook Lane. Deputies plan to conduct increased patrols at the school Friday.
