Students at Discovery Isle Preschool in Poway and Carlsbad Donate More than 220 Pairs of Pajamas to Local Hospital

POWAY, CA, (Jan. 20, 2017) – Students at Discovery Isle Preschool on Ted Williams Parkway in Poway and Discovery Isle Preschool in Carlsbad recently collected 221 pairs of pajamas, robes, slippers and more, to benefit children at Rady Children’s Hospital as part of an annual pajama drive through local nonprofit, Isabella’s Gift. Students kicked off their drive with a pancake breakfast where students wore pajamas and kindergarteners served pancakes. During the drive, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students also wrote notes to accompany the donations that were delivered to children.

Isabella’s Gift is a nonprofit organization, named in remembrance of a young girl who passed away from cancer at the age of four. The organization, run by Isabella’s parents, has raised more than $110,000 to help provide treatment to children in need and support events at Rady Children’s Hospital. The organization also hosts an annual pajama drive to help kids receiving treatment feel more comfortable while in the hospital.
