Students at Discovery Isle® Preschools Donate Food to Local Community

Students held a holiday food drives for the San Diego Food Bank

Students at Discovery Isle Preschools in Scripps-Poway and on Ted Williams Parkway in Poway recently held food drives for the San Diego Food Bank. During the month of December, students in Poway donated more than 720 nonperishable food items and Scripps-Poway students donated an additional 400 pounds of food to help families in need ahead of the holidays. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to their community.

The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and its North County Food Bank chapter comprise the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County. Last year, the food bank distributed 26 million pounds of food, and the food bank serves, on average, 370,000 people per month in San Diego County.
