Volunteers needed for UCSD Brain-Aging Research Study

Recruitment for a paid UCSD research study

UCSD Department of Psychiatry is conducting research on how your mood changes and inflammatory responses may affect the brain functioning as you age.

We are looking for people who have been diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder as well as those without any mental illness for our study. You will receive $125 for approximately 10 hours/year, for up to 4 years. The study includes using a smartphone and a watch for 2 weeks (to track your mood, activity level, and sleep patterns), clinical interviews and questionnaires, cognitive assessments (to measure your memory, attention, and thinking), and 3 blood draws (15 mL each).

You may be eligible if you...
- are 35-60 years old;
- have been diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder OR have no mental illness
- are a native-level English speaker; and
- do not have history of brain injury or migraines
