Zombies Prowl to King of Pop at Old Poway Park
Powegians practice for a production of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" at the San Diego County Fair.
If you stroll through Old Poway Park on Sundays until the start of the San Diego County Fair, you may hear a familiar beat.
Performers from throughout the region, including in Poway, are practicing for a June 25 performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Helen Flaster is the lead instructor for the Poway group, which will join hundreds of others at the fair this summer.

"Anyone that has any love for dance, you have to like Michael Jackson," Flaster said. "You have to admire his skill, his talent, his creativity."
Classes are held every Sunday at Old Poway Park near the fountain from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will continue until the June 25 performance.
