1 Dead, SR-78 Closed In 2-Car Ramona Crash

RAMONA, CA – One person was killed, and State Route 78 was closed in both directions, following a two-car crash Monday at West Haverford Road north of the Pine Tree Acres Christmas Tree Farm in the Ramona area.

"It was a possible T-bone between a white Ford truck and a gray sedan that occurred about 11:07 a.m.," California Highway Patrol Officer Tommy Strickland said. "There was one fatality. The victim was airlifted out of the area by a helicopter."

Strickland said A Sigalert was issued for State Route 78, which was closed both eastbound and westbound, as emergency crews responded to the fatal crash.

The crash victim was not identified.
