Drug Take Back Day: Where To Drop Off Prescription Medications In Ramona

RAMONA, CA — The San Diego County Sheriff's Office will collect unwanted and expired prescription medications April 25 as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at multiple locations across the county, including in Ramona. The service is free and anonymous. No sharps or needles will be accepted.

Officials said the effort aims to prevent misuse of medications that could pose a danger if they fall into the wrong hands.

Sheriff's deputies will be available to accept medications at several sites, including stations in Alpine, Encinitas, Fallbrook, Imperial Beach, Poway, Ramona, Rancho San Diego and San Marcos.

Residents who cannot attend the event may drop off unwanted prescriptions year-round at any sheriff's station or substation during normal business hours, according to the sheriff's office.
