Ramona's Heritage Herd Has Third Foal: Help Name Him! [Blog]

The Heritage Herd has a new foal and IT'S A BOY! Join the Name Game

Foal number three has arrived for the Heritage Herd! The little buckskin colt arrived April 18, 2013.

With the mares on temporary pasture, babies arriving and stallions that need care, a campaign has started to raise funds to support the historic Herd. Efforts are under way for the NAME GAME. In order to gain desperately needed funds and name the foals, a little fun was created so that you may participate in the Herd and possibly become a part of history.Β

In an attempt to support the work being done to return this herd to the wild, we are asking for donations of a mere $25 to submit a name suggestion for the 2013 foals.Β There are currently three new babies in the Ramona pasture with more on the way and this is your chance to get involved with a few clicks of your mouse.

While the mares and foals are lucky enough to live on pasture at this time, the more permanent solution for their future hangs in the balance. There are six stallions that need to be fed and have emergency and long term veterinary and farrier care.

In addition, the management costs such as feed; gas to haul hay and move materials as well as get to our agency leaders and meetings to work on behalf of this Herd, there are fencing repairs; educational materials/print costs; water bills; insurance for the Ramona pasture and many other management costs.Β

Please remember to leave a note with your donation, the foal number and name you’d like to suggest. Β The Herd is of Spanish descent so that will help you choose name suggestions that are well-suited.Β
