General Grant is coming to Ramona! Ken Serfass will speak about General Grant at a meeting of the San Diego Genealogy Association. Ken's love of American Civil War history led to a position in Old Town San Diego State Park as a historical impressionist and leader of a brass band for the park between 2008 and 2010. He is the founder of the Ramona Town Hall Brass Band and has spun that off to create a Civil War reenactor group, the “Marine Detachment of the USS Wabash” and the “Band of the Marine Battalion”.
He has worked as an extra for various TV shows, mostly as a Civil War soldier or Marine. Recently he was hired to portray General U.S. Grant for a documentary set to air on History Channel on Memorial Day, in May of 2011, entitled, “Civil War Lee & Grant”.
