Free Sandbags Available For Ramona Residents

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – With more rain set to hit the region, it’s a good time to stock up on free sand and bags to protect your home and property.

According to weather officials, a strong Pacific storm is expected to bring heavy precipitation that may cause flooding, the possibility of thunderstorms, potentially damaging winds and big waves to San Diego County in the coming days.

To help residents and businesses prepare for the storm and prevent flood-related damage, San Diego County's Department of Public Works, Fire Authority and Cal Fire are offering a list of places where people in unincorporated areas can get free sand and/or bags. The list includes 15 fire stations and other spots where residents can get free sand and bags, as well as another 29 stations where residents can pick up free bags.

Because supplies are limited, San Diegans are advised to call the locations listed below in advance. Residents are also asked to bring their own shovels.
