On Saturday, November 2nd, the Royal Alliance Band and Color Guard went to the Mira Mesa band tournament. The band competed in both parade and field competition. The tournament was split up into 1A-2A bands in the morning and 3A-6A in the afternoon.
The band received first place for both parade and field competition. The color guard also received first place for both competition.
The band also received the morning sweepstakes award, meaning that they had the highest score out of all the bands competing in the morning section of the tournament.
Some tournaments have a percussion judge that gives the percussion section ( front ensemble and drumline ) their own seperate score. The percussion competed against the percussion sections of the other 1A-2A bands, and received first place with a score of 81.
