Pedestrian Dies After Struck By Vehicle In Ramona Intersection
The 73-year-old was airlifted to an Escondido hospital where he was declared dead, officials said.
RAMONA, CA – A pickup truck struck and fatally injured a 73-year-old man Tuesday in an East County intersection.
The Ford F-150 hit the pedestrian shortly after 9:30 a.m. as the driver was making a left turn from southbound Seventh Street onto state Route 78 in Ramona, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim -- who had the right of way at the time of the crash -- was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he was pronounced dead.

The Ramona resident's name was withheld pending family notification.
Intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the accident, CHP public-affairs Officer Travis Garrow said.
