Plane Makes Hard Landing At Ocotillo Airport In San Diego County
The 57-year-old pilot was the sole occupant of the small aircraft, authorities said.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – A pilot was injured Wednesday in a hard landing at Ocotillo Airport in the far eastern reaches of San Diego County.
Cal Fire confirmed an airplane made a "hard landing" around 8:30 a.m. at the airport on state Route 78, about 30 miles east of Julian.
The 57-year-old pilot was the sole occupant of the small aircraft, sheriff's Lt. Karla Menzies said.

Medics took the man, whose name was not released, to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. He was transported by air ambulance due to the remote location of the airport, Menzies said.
