
Royce Stephens Bolding, a resident of Ramona for 32 years,Β died Aug. 31Β after a battle withΒ Alzheimer's disease, according to a Union Tribune obituary. He was 78.Β
Bolding servedΒ more thanΒ 22 years in the Navy, stationed inΒ Vietnam, and at Hawaii's Pearl Harbor. After his time in the service he worked inΒ building maintenance until retiring.
In retirement he volunteered at theΒ Ramona Sheriffs' Department with his wife Kathy, and received awards for his service to the community.
"Those who had the privilege to know him knew he was sincere and the kindest heart you would ever know. He was a dedicated husband and dad, a great friend and mentor," read his obituary.
Services are planned for Monday, October 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery with full military honors. Donation can be made in the memory ofΒ Royce Stephens Bolding toΒ Disabled American Veterans.
