Sheriff's Homicide detectives continued their investigation and identified twenty-six-year-old Jammerieo Austin, from San Diego, as a suspect in the murder of Karmen Anderson. Jammerieo was arrested yesterday and booked into the San Diego Central Jail for one count of 187(a) PC – Murder, two counts of 245(a)(2) PC – Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and one count of 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

On April 24, 2021, at about 11:30 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to the 3600 block of Bancroft Drive in Spring Valley for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they learned a woman had been shot while seated in a parked vehicle, but she was no longer at the scene. Another person had driven the woman to a local area hospital where she was being treated for gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the woman's condition declined. She was pronounced deceased this morning.   Â
The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation.
The victim has been identified as forty-year-old Karmen Dionne Anderson who is also known as Karmen Hicks. Karmen is a resident of the city of San Diego. Her family has been notified of her death.
