First things first: Apply for an account. Why do we make you apply? We want to make sure your great, local content isn’t overwhelmed by non-local content — or worse, spam. So we ask users to apply to make sure you're real, and real local. You'll receive an email confirming your account.

Once you're logged in, choose article. (We've added a link below for those looking to post events.)

Choose your Patch by typing the first few letters of the town or city name, then select the appropriate one from those that appear below the box. Then select a topic. (Share local news, announcements, opinions, lost pet notices on the bulletin board. Selling locally? Post those items in deals & classifieds.)

Add a description. (This is what people will see when you share it on Facebook.)

Drop in a photo.

Share details in the body of your post.
