Suspected Drunk Driver Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Pregnant Mom On Mother's Day In Ramona

BBQ fundraiser planned Thursday for family of Jessica Foderingham, who was wife of a Marine, mother to two boys and eight months pregnant.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 2:40 p.m.

A motorist who allegedly drove drunk and got into a Mother's Day crash in Ramona that killed a pregnant woman, then summoned a Lyft driver to give him a ride to a bar, was charged today with eight felonies, including murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Andrew Dorian Milonis, 44, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment to the charges, which also include DUI and hit-and-run. His bail was increased to $3 million, and he faces 40 years to life in prison if convicted.

Milonis was heading east on San Vicente Road when his 2011 GMC Yukon pickup rear-ended a 2016 Dodge Dart near Arena Drive about 6:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The impact sent the car veering into a center median, where it struck a tree, fatally injuring the driver, 29-year-old Jessica Foderingham, who was eight months pregnant. The Ramona resident and her unborn daughter were pronounced dead at a hospital. Foderingham was the mother of two young boys and the wife of a San Diego-based Marine.

Milonis allegedly fled following the collision, then abandoned his vehicle about a mile away and called for a Lyft driver to give him a ride to a bar on Main Street, CHP public-affairs Officer Kevin Pearlstein said. Deputies found him at the tavern about an hour later and arrested him.

Milonis, a Ramona resident, is due back in court May 31 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for him to stand trial.

A fundraising effort is set for Thursday evening during Ramona Cruise Night, which begins at 6 p.m. The proprietors of A&S Catering & BBQ, 1158 Main St. in Ramona, will donate all proceeds from sales to the Foderingham family, according to Ramona Town Radio.

"Jessica was my friend for the last 20 years, she was an amazing friend, to all who had the pleasure of being her friend, she walked by her family and she was one of the best moms to her 2 sons and couldn't wait to meet her baby girl," the catering company said on its Facebook page. "She was taken from all of us too soon."

A GoFundMe effort also was launched Tuesday, entitled Mommy and Baby Foderingham, to assist the family.

"This Mother's Day, May 14th 2017, we tragically lost a mother and her unborn baby girl. Jessica Nicole Foderingham was eight months pregnant with Ayanna Amari Marie Skye Foderingham," the page states.

"Jessica was a mother to two precious boys as well. Her husband, Christian Foderingham, a San Diego-based Marine, is now left to raise their boys while grieving the loss of his beautiful wife and daughter. Any support is much appreciated for this shattered family that will never be the same."

As of this afternoon, the fundraiser collected $1,705 toward its $10,000 goal.
