UPDATE: Missing North County Boy Found Safe
Police report the 12 year old, last seen Monday morning, was ditching school.
A 12-year-old North County boy who went missing this morning was found unharmed about six hours later, playing hooky by hiding in a wooded area near Calavera Lake.
Seventh-grader Colton Knippel disappeared from Oak Riparian Park in Oceanside about 8 a.m., according to police.
The errant youngster was found about 2 p.m. in a brushy area south of the park, Lt. Karen Laser said. He was in good condition and was reunited with his family.
