Arrest May Be Near in Michelle Le Case

Police say they are following a trail of evidence.

Northern California police released a statement this weekend saying they are narrowing in on a suspect or suspects in the disappearance of 26-year-old nursing student Michelle Le

According to NBC Bay Area, police are processing evidence and discounting several potential suspects in the case, which they classified as a a homicide on June 6, and will be ready to make an arrest in the near future. 

Though Le's family has not yet made a formal statement on the recent news, the family did state that they were unaware of the identity of the persons of interest or the timeline as to when an arrest may be made.

"Our main concern is finding her home with us," said Krystine Dinh, Le's cousin. "We love her and miss her terribly."

During a rally held last Wednesday, which , Lt. Roger Keener of the Hayward Police Department announced that the Le case was the "No. 1 priority" for Hayward investigators. He said the case was progressing but that Le's extensive network, which spans the entire state, added more time to the investigation due to the number of people detectives interviewed.

Born and raised in San Diego, Le graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Rancho Peñasquitos before she moved to the Bay Area about eight years ago and attended San Francisco State University. In the time since, she’s lived in Daly City, Oakland and, at the time of her disappearance, San Mateo. She recently enrolled in a nursing program at a Samuel Merritt University campus in San Mateo and was completing a clinical rotation at Kaiser Permanente Hayward Medical Center.

She disappeared during a break from her rotation at the Hayward Kaiser two months ago on May 27. Police located her car parked nearby with blood inside of it but found no sign of the nursing student. 

Since Le went missing, her family has offered a reward, currently at , for information about her whereabouts. Police and citizens have also conducted searches for Le and the family hired a , but to date not much new information has been discovered as to what might have happened to her.
