Barlow is Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Pet This Week

His owner had to move.

(RCHS - Mark Viguri)

Barlow is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 6-year-old, 72-pound, male, Boxer / Labrador Retriever mix.

Barlow was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society in 2016 through the Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) program. Before that he was at a rescue partner in the Imperial Valley.

He was adopted five years ago. Now he’s been returned because his owner was entering an extended care facility and couldn’t take Barlow along.

He needs to be the only dog in his home.

The $145 adoption fee for Barlow includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if his new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services. For information about adoption or to become a Virtual Foster visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, call 760-753-6413, or log on to www.SDpets.org.

Kennels and cattery are open 11 to 2 Friday through Monday, and Wednesday and Thursday by appointment.

Special note.

If you have a pet, you need a plan in case you’re no longer able to provide care. Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society and FreeWill can help you create your own legal will. It’s free and most people finish in 20 minutes or less.

Many pet owners do not have pet guardianship plans for their animals, which means they have no assurance that their pets will be cared for. You can also use FreeWill to create a will that you then finalize with your own attorney. For more information log on to www.sdpets.org or call 760-753-6413.
