San Diego City Councilman and mayoral candidate Carl DeMaio released his first TV ad on Tuesday, about three weeks after fellow candidate, Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, first began running his.

The two candidates—who were both part of the Republican Party until Fletcher left to become independent last month—have had several tense exchanges during debates over transparency and partisanship.
