Boys Soccer: Broncos Fall 1-0 in SoCal Semifinal

Buchanan High of Clovis scores with seven minutes to play despite being a man down, ending the season for Rancho Bernardo.

It was a long way to go to see your season come to an abrupt end, but the Rancho Bernardo High boys soccer team could reflect on a successful season on the ride back from Clovis, near Fresno.

The Broncos were eliminated from the Southern California Regional playoffs in the semifinal round, falling to Buchanan High 1-0 on Thursday on a goal with seven minutes left to play.

A red card forced Buchanan to play a man down for the final 20 minutes, but Josh Alvarez was able to get a crossing pass in front of the RB goal, where J.P. Medina tapped it into the net after the ball trickled past Bronco goalie Jake Fenlason, who got tied up with a teammmate while going for the ball.
