Many parents wait until report cards come out to give their child an academic advantage in school.  This means, several months have already gone by.  By then, a child may already be knee deep in not understanding a concept and feeling down about themselves. They feel like it is everyone’s fault and something they did wrong. This is not true and doesn’t have to be this way.  Each child can learn and have academic success.  Success is dependent upon their attitudes and perceptions about learning.  Teachers can either turn them off or turn them on to learning.  A child who loves their teacher, typically tend to do much better than others who may not.  This doesn't have to be this way.  Even if your child doesn't have the best relationship with their teachers or feel that their teacher isn't teaching them, they can be successful and do great academically. School is challenging, but it doesn't have to be a failure for a child.
